Cultural anthropologist and philosophers, holds a doctoral degree.
Magdalena Gmibut worked previously at the State Higher Vocational School in Głogów and the Higher School of Humanities in Wrocław. Her research interests span epistemology as well as philosophy and culture of the Chinese garden. Gimbut has published several papers concerned with culture and aesthetics of space-shaping in China (→list of publication). Having received a scholarship from the government of the PRC to study Chinese, she spent two years mastering the language at the Fudan University. Subsequently, she put her expertise to use at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, being responsible for educational affairs and establishing collaboration between Chinese and Polish universities. Currently, Gimbut is a vice-director of the Centre for Polish Culture and Language at the Zhejiang University in Ningbo, working towards promotion of Polish culture in China and Chinese culture in Poland.
